The Role

SurveyMonkey is looking for a diligent, self-motivated, technically-savvy individual, with excellent business and organisational skills to play a key role in our finance department in Dublin.  This position will be on a contract basis initially, with a view to a permanent position.  The position will report directly to the Director of Finance & Accounting in Dublin, as well as work closely with other members of our global offices with day-to-day business tasks.

The International Accountant will be a key member of the accounting team and support the company’s month-end close and day to day international accounting operations. They will be a key member in assisting and supporting the finance function as it scales operations for future growth.

They will assist in the management of the general ledger for all international entities in accordance with company policies.


  • Prepare month-end accounting close activities for our international entities, working closely with US Finance colleagues.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries for SurveyMonkey’s international entities.
  • Prepare indirect sales tax filings (VAT, GST) and reconciliations.
  • Prepare month-end balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Prepare month-end flux analysis for international entities.
  • Liaise with other internal departments (e.g. FP&A, Tax, Legal) to ensure the accuracy of the accounts.
  • Liaise with outsourced service providers for international entities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures and update documentation as necessary.
  • Assist with the co-ordination of external audits and filing requirements.
  • Assist in year-end financial statement preparation.
  • Assist with special finance and operational projects as requested by US finance team or local Dublin office.                                              


  • Newly qualified accountant (CA/CPA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • 3–4 years’ relevant experience in international accounting/finance, preferably in a multinational environment or with a BPO that specializes in International Outsourcing.
  • Solid working knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with VAT and other indirect taxes.
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to work efficiently and accurately.
  • High energy level, with a demonstrable hands-on approach.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and through written mediums in a clear and concise manner.
  • Exposure to NetSuite ERP system a plus.
